| Introduction | The Tan-Hsin Archive is a collection of administrative and judicial documents that originate from Hsin-chu Hsien, Tamsui Ting, and Taipei Fu between 1776 and 1895. It is the most comprehensive collection of Taiwanese governmental documents from the Qing Dynasty covering the longest period of time. This archive is an invaluable resource for the study of Taiwan’s history as it contains a plethora of material relating to government, economics, society, and agriculture during the Qing Dynasty. The archive is also world-renowned as an important information resource on the Chinese judicial system. |
