During the 51 years of the Japanese administration of Taiwan (1895~1945) schools at all levels in Taiwan published class books recording student photographs and name lists along with school activities and histories. The NCL collection includes over 40 such publications, the oldest dating back to 1933, providing an overview of educational development in Taiwan.

All of the Japanese-era class books in the NCL collection have been digitally converted and can be viewed from the Taiwan Memory website.
