In December 1997, the library received a collection of rubbings from the Department of Anthropology, which were originally collected by Taihoku Imperial University during the era of Japanese occupation. The collection includes a total of 189 rubbings taken of stelea from many historical sites in Taiwan.

Since many of these stelea are no longer in existence, these rubbings are invaluable resources for the study of Taiwanese history.
